New Condition vs Usable Condition

We categorize the conditions of stamps we purchase into 2 different categories; New Condition and Usable Condition.

The rate at which will purchase your stamps will depend on the type of stamps you send, as well as being one of these two condition types.

New Condition Stamps

New Condition is just that. They are in the same condition they were in when purchased from the Post Office.

Stamps must be in complete sheets, rolls, or books. They must be unfolded, unbent, and free of any dirt, debris, or added marks such as from a pencil or pen.

Self-adhesive stamps must not have any stamps partially lifted from the backing. Perforated sheets must not have any separated perforations.

Even the slightest imperfections will downgrade stamps to Usable Condition, so please package your stamps with care to avoid any disruption during the shipping process.

Usable Condition Stamps

Usable Condition means that the stamps are not brand new, but are still in good enough condition to be used for mailing.

Usable Condition includes partial sheets, rolls, books, and single stamps. Sheets and books may be folded as long as the stamps themselves are not folded individually.

Light dirt or debris around the edges of the stamp is ok as long as it does not touch the design, or is strong enough to be mistaken as a cancelation making it look used.

Self-adhesive may have stamps partially lifted from the backing, as long as they are not stuck to other stamps. Perforated sheets with separated perforations will be considered as Usable Condition.

Single stamps may have hinge marks on the adhesive side, but must contain enough remaining adhesive to be attached to mailings.

Damaged Or Used Stamps

We do not purchase used or damaged stamps. Stamps are considered used or damaged if they are torn, moderately soiled, written on, canceled with postmarks, missing adhesive, or stuck to other stamps. Please do not send damaged or used stamps. They will not be purchased or returned.
